Xombie

Yet another high school project of mine. Another friend and I wanted to play some cybergrind after having listened to a lot of S.M.E.S., Urine Festival and the likes. Turns out we had no idea what we were doing, who'd a thunk! We made something like 20 songs for a digital demo.

After 2011 we took a break. None of us had time to do stuff. Then in early 2014 we got together and made some shitty music with REAL instruments this time! We're still trying to get around to printing the Designated for Disapproval demo EP. The results can be heard on Facebook here.

Warhound

The Cobra project mentioned in an earlier post ended up being Warhound. The logo looks a lot harder than the music was. I stayed with the band for a long time when I was young, but we never got anywhere so I quit after some years.

We were heavily into Manowar and the likes, so the logo was naturally inspired by that.

I did the sketch, but someone else did the photoshopping of the logo.

The logo ended up being used on an album after I quit, entitled World Domination Operation, as seen below.

I think it was subsequently used on a few more covers, but I'm not too sure about that.

A logo made for a fictitious band. I was heavily into Celtic Frost at the time of making this, and I wanted to make something mysterious but evil and black metal inspired. I also really like symmetry. Done in 2010.

Stonsdorf

Another high school project between a friend and I. We wanted to play some black metal, but we weren't really serious and we never got around to actually writing any music at all. But we had a great time taking stupid pictures and drinking the beverage after which we took our name, the wonderful Stonsdorfer Krauterlikeur!

If we had recorded something, this would've been our album cover. A for effort!

Slay the Shepherd

I joined this band on bass some time in 2011 after they had released an EP. Sort of a groove metal affair. They asked if I could do a logo, but this was the best I could come up with. We ended up changing our name to Rapid Dominance and recording another EP at Death Island Studios on Mors, Denmark.

We played a bunch of gigs but I ended up leaving at some point in 2012 or something. You can check out our cover of Death's prog classic Spirit Crusher or one of our performances at Voxhall in Aarhus on YouTube.

Rotten Fetus

Logo made for a death metal band from Aalborg, Denmark. They never amounted to anything as far as I know, but the lead singer ended up starting another death metal outfit named Hatred Conspiracy, for which I also did a logo, albeit in a very different style. They, however, never amounted to anything either.

I think this was my very first logo! Doesn't show at all. Maybe some time around 2006 or something?

Ragnogroth

A logo I did for a friend and fellow death metal maniac to use with his screenname. Heavily inspired by bands like Impetigo, Lord Gore and Blood Freak.

Nebulous

A logo I did for a technical death metal band I played in for a brief time. We folded pretty quickly after settling on the name Nebulous instead of Paroxysm of Fear. We played a cover of Decapitated's Spheres of Madness but never really wrote any original material.

Paroxysm of Fear

Logo made for a band I played in. A friend, Skyum from Arescet/Sunken, and I wanted to create a death metal band because of reasons, and we ended up playing a cover of Decapitated's Spheres of Madness. When we started writing our own material we folded quickly.
Paroxysm of Fear was name we discussed while choosing a name, but we ended up calling ourselves Nebulous for the brief time we existed instead. I think Paroxysm of Fear is also the name of a Burning the Masses song?

Monarch

Logo I did for a project of mine in high school in 2010. The project consisted of me and a friend. We wanted to make an amalgamation of stoner doom metal along the lines of Electric Wizard and electronic music, using only computers. We made three songs for our EP, entitled Netherthrone.

The image above was my final drawing. It was sketched with pencil, the skull and the crown being separate at that time. Then it was inked with black marker and coloured on a computer, where the crown was also "attached" to the skull.

The image above was the initial quick sketch for the logo. I can't remember if it was my friend or I who did the sketch, but it was made on a computer.

Below is the final cover for the Netherthrone EP. My friend, the other half of Monarch, made the cover. He used my drawing and made a stencil, with which he cut out a pumpkin during Halloween, then took a picture and shopped in the MONARCH text in the bottom. The original drawing was instead used for the back cover, though we never got around to having it printed. Would anyone actually care enough to buy it anyway? Hahaha!

Should I have piqued your interest, two of the three songs can be heard on YouTube. The last track, Happy Ending, is 18 minutes in length and thus never uploaded, though it's nestled safely on my harddrive somewhere.

Malformation

Logo made for a band called Malformation. I have no memory of who they were. I seem to recall them approaching me online to make a logo, but I can't remember their reaction, if they even had any. I did the logo in a blackened death metal style, but I don't think I ever heard any of their music. Since I can't find anything about them on the internet, they probably never recorded anything and the logo was never used. Done in 2010 or something.

Khem

Logo for Swedish death metal band Khem. I don't think they ever used it, and as I recall they ended up changing their name before doing anything.
If I remember correctly they said it was too cartoony and that they wanted something more organic and sprawling, something more like the Repugnant logo or something.

Hatred Conspiracy

Made for a band from Aalborg, Denmark. To my knowledge, they never got anywhere or recorded anything. I remember they told me they wanted a logo kind of inspired by Job for a Cowboy and the likes.
This logo is very early for me. I actually did a logo for the vocalist's previous band Rotten Fetus as well, and as I recall their logo was my very first. More on that in another post.
The Hatred Conspiracy logo was probably made some time in 2006.

Arescet

Logo made for Danish band Arescet in 2013.

They hail from Aarhus, Denmark and play a great variant of atmospheric black metal.

The logo was used on the cover for the digital demo EP "The Crackling of Embers", as seen below. Due to a small change in style and some lineup changes the band changed their name to Sunken.
