Kokain

Kokain - Danish for cocaine - is a Danish hardcore punk band. Their style is really energetic and fast. This is the final version of the logo, although from very early in the process the lettering had already taken a form like this.

I drew it by hand and adjusted angles in photoshop. Made mid 2020.

The first sketch version was the block-style sans-serif lettering with a razor blade. Kokain wanted to use the razor but didn't like the block font, and thus the new version was born. However the new style of the logo doesn't fit with the razor very well, and having it read as a razor blade while still retaining some legibility in the logo doesn't fit very well together, as you can see below.

Belligerent

A new logo I did mid 2020 for a Danish upcoming black/thrash metal band.

They wanted something based off of a classic blackletter font, but I wanted to make it a little more standout. So I experimented a little with letter heights and composition while focusing on keeping the general aesthetic of the font.

My original sketch had a wider spacing between letters and also a dot over the i. The dot made the left side of the logo very heavy compared to the right, so it had to go.

I drew up a sketch by hand using a flat-style Faber Castell calligraphy felt pen, then scanned it an adjusted letter thickness, angles and spacing. Then I printed it and redrew the logo to give it a more personal and less computerised feel.

TONEwood logo re-vamp

Re-vamped the original hand-drawn TONEwood logo in Photoshop to make it more appealing and symmetrical.
